CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, noninvasive, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. CST focuses on the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. The gentle touch technique reduces or alleviates stress and pain by releasing compression in these vital areas. CST involves monitoring and improving the function of the semi-closed hydraulic system contained within a touch waterproof membrane (the Dura Mater) which envelopes and helps protect the brain and spinal cord. The CST-trained therapist focuses on supporting the flow of cerebrospinal fluid by using therapeutic touch to regulate the joints of the cranium.

The practitioner applies light touch to the client’s skull, face, spine and pelvis to release tensions deep within the body that relieves pain and dysfunction in order to improve whole body health and performance. Patients often report feelings of deep relaxation during and after the treatment session.
