A Message from Dr. Rozelle.
Three years ago, I became acutely aware of the tremendous problem that our veteran’s face upon their return home from deployment to combat zones. Many experience Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) which can seriously affect their lives and the lives of their loved ones. Sadly, access to effective resources has been lacking. When I teamed up with Dr. George Lindenfeld, who developed RESET Therapy, we decided to work together to make this therapeutic intervention a mainstream technique to help veterans and all people suffering from PTSD. The first step was to conduct and publish a Single Case Study with a combat veteran, wherein I would perform pre and post brain mapping analyses to document the real brain changes this therapy can produce. When we asked our subject to focus on his trauma his brain went into an extreme level of arousal, causing me to make the comment “His brain is on fire.” After Dr. Lindenfeld administered two treatment sessions his symptoms resolved and his brain map became unreactive to his trauma focus. This led to the publication of PTSD: Brain on Fire: A RESET Therapy (QEEG) Brain Map Analysis of an Afghanistan Combat Veteran. In the course of this study I learned that 22 veterans commit suicide every day because of unresolved PTSD. Encouraged by our early results, we designed a 40 subject IRB approved study of PTSD in combat veterans from all the major conflicts since Vietnam. We began as a self= funded study devoting countless hours to treat our first group of six subjects. The results have been nothing short of amazing. We have trained other therapists in this highly effective technique and we are ready to complete the study and publish our results. All we need is funding to move forward. Toward that end we are launching our first fund raising event in conjunction with McCurdy’s Comedy Club. We invite you to help us reach our funding goal while enjoying a fun evening of comedy at McCurdy’s.
