SATURDAY, JUNE 3 (Noon to 8pm) – Kendra Simpkins, MSW and Dr. Jon Connelly will present a Heal & Transform Workshop Saturday, June 3 from noon until 8pm. Dr Connelly is the founder and developer of Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT) and Kendra is a RRT practitioner. RRT helps to clear anxiety, guilt and grief associated with prior trauma. The cost for the full day workshop is $350. Please RSVP at 941-504-3040. According to Kendra, the workshop benefits adults experiencing strong emotions and a sense of feeling stuck regarding a past or current traumatic experience. Each attendee will have an opportunity to work one-on-one with Dr. Connelly while benefiting from a supportive group environment.
MONDAY, MAY 22 (6-8pm) – Kendra Simpkins, MSW and Linda Ann Remley, CAP will present a final session in their three session series titled Freedom to Live Well. The theme is Dealing with Catastrophic Loss. Kendra Simpkins provides Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT) to support veterans and other clients dealing with trauma and mental health issues. She owns Sarasota Rapid Resolution Therapy. Linda Ann Remley is a Certified Addictions Professional with 35 years of experience treating individuals, couples and families. LAST MONDAY OF EACH MONTH (6:30 to 8:30pm) – Craniosacral Therapy Study Group with Ken DiPersio, LMT, CST. Ken has taught more than 500 classes while supporting patients of all ages for 25 years. The class is $20 for therapists and they can earn 2 CE credits. MONDAY, MAY 15 (12:30 to 2pm) – MindSpa will host a lunch and learn event for area veterans Monday, May 15 from 12:30 to 2pm. The event is free to veterans and their family members. Julie Cook Downing with Caregivers’ Comfort is the organizer. Please RSVP at 941-360-3580 or via email at CareGiverComfort@aol.com. The special event will feature a panel discussion with Dr. George Rozelle, the owner of MindSpa, Dr. George Lindenfeld, the founder of the RESET Therapy Professional Institute, and a local veteran who has been successfully treated with RESET Therapy. Julie Cook Downing will serve as the moderator. The free lunch and learn event will include a tour of MindSpa where guests can learn more about the center’s clinical and spa services, as well as its capabilities in supporting veterans, first responders and other adults dealing with the symptoms of PTSD and other conditions.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25 (9am to 4pm) – Conference on Healing & Prevention – The unique local conference features presentations by five area professionals with expertise in all facets of natural healing and prevention. A healthy lunch is also included. The event is organized by the Sarasota-based Tai Chi & Qi Gong Healing Institute, a nonprofit organization. The speakers and topics include Dr. Aihan Kuhn on Healing Chronic Pain with Natural Methods, Dr. George Rozelle, the owner of MindSpa, on Resetting the Stuck Brain with Neuromodulation Techniques, Dr. Dennis Pearne on PTSD, Trauma Psychology and Taoist Approach to Therapy, Rachel Toomim, AP on Advanced Acupuncture for the Treatment of Mental and Emotional Issues, and Jeannie Heroux, NP on Qigong’s Nature Connection. The cost for the full day conference is $125 before February 10 and $150 after this date. Lunch is included with a full day conference registration. A half day (morning or afternoon session) is $79 before February 10 and $95 after this date. SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12 (6-7:30pm) – Life Coach Darlene Coleman is hosting a free four-week series focused on Universal Love titled Get on Board the Love Train. Participants can attend any 90-minute session or all four running through early March. The first session is Sunday, February 12 at 6pm. The other dates are February 19, February 26 and March 5. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11 (1-6pm) – Cynthia Higgins, MD will lead a meditation workshop titled Introducing the Healing Angels of Integrated Energy Therapy. The venue is the La Quinta Inn and Suites located at 5931 Commercial Way in Sarasota. The cost is $45. Cynthia welcomes questions; please RSVP at 928-301-7664. Cynthia is a Master Level Instructor of Integrated Energy Therapy (IET). IET was developed at the Center of Being by Stevan J. Thayer. IET uses a divine angelic energy ray to work closely with a person’s DNA. IET supports individuals and releases energy patterns that limit career, relationship and life choices. Workshop participants receive a class workbook and certificate of completion. Cynthia is a trained physician with 10 years experience in psychiatry who shifted her focus from conventional approaches to energy therapy, life coaching and intuitive counseling. She’s a member of the Anxiety and Depressive Disorders Association of America.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11 – VETERAN SERVICES DAY – MindSpa is offering area veterans and their spouses free health and wellness services on Veterans Day set for Friday, November 11. Veterans can make appointments for a variety of services available at MindSpa by calling 941-378-9959. MindSpa also welcomes donations to the MindSpa Veteran Support Program. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8 (6:30pm) – Darlene Coleman will provide a free talk about treatments for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) 6:30pm on Tuesday, November 8. The talk will focus on the options for helping veterans and first responders dealing with PTSD symptoms. PTSD symptoms include stress, high anxiety, depression, social withdraw, difficulty with sleep, and intense emotional feelings. MindSpa provides methods and tools that can help adults manage their symptoms. That includes The BAUD device used in connection with RESET Therapy and Emotional Freedom Technique (EMT). RESET is an acronym for Reconsolidation Enhancement by Stimulation of Emotional Triggers.
TUESDAY, JUNE 14 – Jennifer Wilson will give a free talk 6:30pm on Tuesday, June 14 as part of our ongoing community education program. Please RSVP at 941-378-9959. Jennifer will explain why she became a wellness advocate and introduce her various areas of expertise including the BEMER System, Hyperbaric Treatments, Nutritional IV’s and Injections, H2 Bev (reduces inflammation), Supplements, Neurotransmitter & Adrenal Studies, Micro-Needling, and Chemical Peels. Jennifer grew up around medicine as the daughter of Dr. James A. Wilson, a former Emergency Room Physician. She developed an interest in alternative medicine while helping her daughter with an autoimmune condition.
COMING JUNE 10-12 – Ava Diamond, LCSW is planning a comprehensive three-day learning retreat focused on Burnout Prevention & Intervention for physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals. TUESDAY, APRIL 12 (6:30pm) – Dr. Marilyn Jenai will give a free talk at MindSpa 6:30pm on Tuesday, April 12 focused on Transpersonal Psychology. The talk is based on a series of talks by quantum physicists and energy healers and gives a sense of where science and magic meet. She’s a member of the Anxiety and Depressive Disorders Association of America and a Master Level Instructor for Integrated Energy Therapy (IET). She completed medical school at the University of South Florida and her internship in Psychiatry at Duke University. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Molecular Biology at Princeton University.
